Overview

The classic route, done properly

This is SaharaVia’s signature 7-day loop — the full arc from the ochre kasbahs of Ouarzazate through the river valleys of Dades and Todra, into the dunes of Erg Chebbi, and back over the High Atlas to Marrakech.

Rather than rushing the desert leg like most 3-day tours do, this itinerary gives you two full nights in the Sahara — one in a traditional Berber camp, one in a private luxury camp further into the dunes — with a full free day in between to actually experience the desert instead of just passing through it.

Highlights

What this trip is built around

  • Aït Ben Haddou: The fortified kasbah village made famous by countless film productions.
  • Dades & Todra Gorges: Dramatic river canyons and rose-colored rock walls in the High Atlas foothills.
  • Erg Chebbi Dunes: Camel trek at sunset into the dunes, two nights camping under a genuinely dark sky.
  • Nomad & Berber Villages: Stops with local families along the route — not staged, just where people actually live.
  • Tizi n’Tichka Pass: One of the highest and most spectacular mountain roads in North Africa, crossed both ways.
  • Capped at 12 Travelers: Same vehicle, same guide, the whole way — no swapping between agencies mid-route.
